Brasil registra terceiro caso de varíola dos macacos

O Brasil tem mais um caso de varíola dos macacos diagnosticada. Na noite desse domingo (12), o Centro de Informações Estratégicas em Vigilância em Saúde do Rio Grande do Sul notificou uma ocorrência de “caso importado” da doença.
O diagnóstico foi confirmado laboratorialmente, no domingo, pelo Instituto Adolf Lutz de São Paulo. Trata-se de um paciente residente em Porto Alegre, do sexo masculino, 51 anos, que viajou para Portugal, com retorno ao Brasil no dia 10 deste mês.
“O paciente está em isolamento domiciliar, junto com os seus contatos, apresenta quadro clínico estável, sem complicações e está sendo monitorado pelas secretarias de Saúde do estado e do município”, diz nota divulgada pelo Ministério da Saúde.
O ministério acrescenta que “todas as medidas de contenção e controle foram adotadas imediatamente após a comunicação de que se tratava de um caso suspeito de monkeypox [varíola dos macacos, em inglês], com o isolamento do paciente e rastreamento dos seus contatos, tanto nacionalmente quanto do voo internacional, que contou com o apoio da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa)”.
Casos no país
De acordo com o ministério, no momento, o Brasil registra três casos confirmados, sendo dois em São Paulo e um no Rio Grande do Sul. Estão em investigação seis casos suspeitos. Todos seguem isolados e em monitoramento.
